I’m Margarita Perepecho a UX/UI Designer based in London, UK.
I worked for 5 years in an insurance company and for 2 of these years, I worked as a team manager. I got to be a part of meetings with the development team and sales department to improve our platform. It was awesome because it taught me how to communicate and empathise with people. After that, I studied front-end development for almost a year, but then I decided to dive deeper into UX/UI design because I'm super passionate about creating amazing products that make people's lives easier and brighter.
I learned UX/UI design by watching online tutorials and reading articles, and then I took the online Google UX design Specialisation course. It was very helpful in understanding the whole design process, and I even graduated from the UX Academy. Throughout the course, I gained the skills to conduct user interviews and surveys, create wireframes and prototypes, perform usability testing, and most importantly, provide and receive feedback on design work, whether it's mine or my peers. My biggest takeaway from my education is to empathise with users and create clear, user-friendly and unique designs. I've also worked with UI kits and component libraries, which saves a ton of time. I'm pretty good with Figma, Adobe XD, Miro, and InVision, and I'm always eager to learn more. Now I’m learning how to create digital illustrations just for fun.
Creating designs isn't just about wireframes and prototypes, it's a whole process that starts with research. But I'm confident, and I love practising a user-centred design process, doing user research, creating wireframes and prototypes, and making clean, aesthetic designs. Plus, my background as a front-end developer helps me understand how to create designs that work well with other developers.
When I'm not designing, I love to travel, camp, take photos, play video games and hike (I climbed one peak - 601m., it isn't so high, and it is my first peak, but not the last).
